1) You will be making a history packed voyage aboard a 19th century
replica schooner like Darwin's ship.
2) Tierra Del Fuego is one of the last unspoiled areas in the world and
has the one of the last cold jungles.
3) You will be able to walk through these forests, admiring the virgin
flora and fauna of the area.
4) You will see the cormorant, a sea bird the size of a penguin and
which we can see building
nests at various coves which we anchor in. Also seen is the Magellanic
Penguin, a bird that
can be appreciated at close range.
Dolphins may be seen following the ships wake, jumping and playing
around it.
The most common is the Austral Dolphin and the beautiful Overa Dolphin.
Foxes and Beavers can also be seen. The beaver was introduced to Tierra
Del Fuego in 1944 and since
has become a real problem because of the serious ecological damage it
causes with the dams that it builds.

~ Climbed a 1200 meter summit of an unnamed peak,
Andean Condors gliding overhead.
What was it I need to go back home for?
~ Incredible country - 4000 meter
mountains rising straight out of the fjords.
The area looks much like New Zealand. Chile is generally more beautiful.
~ We're eating the local fare - King crab
and roast lamb. Wonderful seabirds -
albatross, Cape petrel, Skuas, Penguins. It's all very new, even the
stars.
This is the life - puts it all in perspective.
~ The Horn was great, But I really like the Beagle
Channel: Snow covered mountains and glaciers.
A few bergs were clear ice - just like glass -
that is very old ice. Then some had a beautiful blue color.

Puerto Williams is a 1 hour flight on DAP airlines from Punta Arenas,
Chile , the world's most Southern City.
